Mission statement:	Our goal is to help our clients to develop sustainable communities through the employment of creative community and economic development strategies. We work closely with municipalities,non-profit organizations and the private sector to find creative approaches to stimulate the local economy . With no political or activist agenda, USSDC develops comprehensive concepts that are broken down into achievable steps, leading to a holistic sustainable development process. We assist our clients to develop concepts that we hope to improve the social and economic health of their communities and the health of our Earth. Specific attention is committed to the area known as the Black Belt region of the United States of America. Crossing multiple southern states, the region covers more than 600 contiguous counties that have experienced decades of persistent poverty. The region reveals statistical indicators of poverty, education deficiencies, unemployment, health risks and others, similar to those of any economically depressed developing country in the world. For more than a decade, the staff at USSDC has been exploring those similarities and working to find innovative solutions, specifically in the area of economic relief, through job creation and business development.

Organizational structure:	USSDC is a for-profit corporation, which was initially founded in New York, but subsequently moved to Virginia where it incorporated in that state in 2011. The company first secured its Tax-Identification Number in 2009.
