COMMUNITY FOUNDATION A community foundation is an organization led by civil society aimed to promote local development through community leadership and mobilization of resources to meet the critical needs of a specific geographical area. Community foundations in Mexico collect human and financial resources to promote capacity-building and institutional strengths, as well as the development of societies. In more than 20 years, they have become catalysts for social and human development of communities where they also promote citizenship, volunteerism, strategic philantropy and stedwarship. QUALITY POLICY We are a community foundation dedicated to address the critical needs of our community through institutional strengthening of CSOs. As such, we have developed quality policies that further our accountability mechanisms, as well as our management systems. This is based on the ISO 9001:2008 certification, oriented to continuous improvement. GOVERNING BODY Corportiva de Fundaciones, A.C. is governed by a strong, committed and diverse Council. This body has worked in favor of social justice, professionalism and engagement of all stakeholders involved in development. It consists of men and women with longstanding background on social development focused on improving people’s lives. The Council also works in favor of the most vulnerable communities and promotes social progress. Corporativa de Fundaciones, A.C. has made of development an integral part of its institutional philosophy. As a community foundation, we promote institutional strengthening of CSOs dedicated to social wellbeing. This makes us work closely with CSOs whose mandate is based on social, economic, political, legal, cultural and environmental sustainable development. We understand institutional strengthening is a process of potential individual capacities that translate themselves into the construction of organizational capacities of CSOs. Thorough our intervention schemes, we provide CSOs with technical tools and other useful resources to fully achieve sustainable strategic plans in the longterm. These resources include: growth of their services and programs, systematization and replication of successful experiences of intervention models in other areas, and the implementation of a continuous improvement culture, advocacy and adapting to change. This process involves a critical assessment of institutional projects, as well as effective evaluation mechanisms, transparency and accountability. We offer training, consultancy services and philantropic advisory for both individuals and CSOs. We mainly focus on capacity-building, strategic planning, management, administration, legal development, and fund procurement. The design and development of our projects and programs are based in research focused on current social developments. All of our work is based not only on context, but on the identification of needs, interests and goals, as well as implementation and monitoring tools, evaluation and transparency mechanisms. |
