Organizational structure: CAETS is run by a Board of Directors which consists of a President, President-elect, Secretary/Treasurer, and Past President as well as eight additional Board members. There is a rotation schedule which determines the succession of officers and directors. This schedule is updated each January. The member academy at the top of the list provides the president and hosts the Annual Meeting of the Council and Symposium or Convocation. The second member academy on the list provides the president-elect. At the end of the year, the member academy providing the president goes to the bottom of the list and provides the Past President for the next year. The term of office for the President, President-elect and Past President are each one year. It is expected that the same person, once elected President-elect, will serve in the three positions during the following three years. Eight other member academies distributed throughout the list each provide a Board Member for a two-year term. The Council elects the President-elect and four Members of the Board of Directors for the next year at its annual meeting. Member academies with representatives on the Board must be members in good standing. Terms of office begin January 1.
Number and type of members: There are 31 academies in CAETS. They are engineering and technological sciences academies around the world, one academy per country. The members of these academies are peer-elected, national leaders in their respective fields of engineering and technological sciences.
