YARD is governed by the Board of trustees which responsible for the policy and strategic guidance of the organization and it discharges its duties through meetings, pronouncement and delegation. The membership of the Board consists of a maximum of seven (7) men and women democratically elected. The Board officially convenes every three months (quarterly) i.e.4 times in a year. Upon arising of issues an extra –ordinary Board meeting convened by the chair or any membership as may be deemed necessary. Apart from the technical and resource mobilization Advisor, membership of the board is for two years. The members could be re-elected /reappointed for subsequent terms of office with a limit of four consecutive years. Those who serve four continuous years are required to take a one –year break after which period they may be re-elected / re – appointed. The Board of Trustees are nominated into the positions by YARD management.
The day to day activities of the organisation is done by the Executive Management headed by the Executive Director. Each theme has an officer in charge (Climate Change Officer, Water and Sanitation Officer) |

YARD has a staff capacity of 12 people comprising 5 management staff, 1 support staff and 6 project field staff. There are 5 female staff representing and 7 male staff representing. The field staff has the following areas of competence public health, sustainable agriculture, micro-finance. |
