    Organizational structure: The overall organization is managed by a Board of Trustees of nine people from Afghanistan, Switzerland and other countries- one of them being the President- which ensures strategic direction of BDN’s work and set up long term objectives. The office in Afghanistan is managed by a Managing Director (MD) and a Deputy Managing Director (DMD). Under them are the Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Director (PMED) the Operation Director (OD) and the Technical Manager (TM). The PME is assisted by PME Officers, the OD leads the administration and finance team and the TM is the head of all the Provincial Managers (PM). The Office in Geneva is managed by a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) who is assisted by the Secretary General (SG) and a Treasurer. The CEO leads the administration and finance team. The total Program Staff of the Organization (excluding the health workers) is around 190 people. The Organization also receives technical advices for quality improvement of services from different national and international advisors called “BDN friends”. According to BDN statutes, all the people that have been assisting the organization in achieving its goals can become a member and take part in the General Assembly.
    Number and type of members: There are nine members of Board of Trustees that leads the overall organization, around 190 Program Staff, 900 Health workers, 3000 community volunteers in Afghanistan and an office with 8 members in Geneva.
    Affiliation with NGO networks: BDN has affiliation since 2011 with White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood, the Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council and the NGO Forum for Health. BDN is also a member of Alliance of Health Organizations in Afghanistan.
