Mission statement:	The Civil Society Initiative for Youth Development was established in 2005 ostensibly to cater for Nigerian Youth comprising men and women who were deprived of the their future due to bad leadership. This group of young people are ready tools in the hands of politicians who use them as thugs, arm them with dangerous weapons to rig electuons for them and thereafter ignore them. The youths would not have any other option than to take to the streets in search of livelihood and end up as armed robbers and constitute nuisance to the society. The Youth Iniatitive oragnizes programmes and activities to educate the youhs on the dangers of allowing themselves to be used by politicians and they are given skills on how to be self sufficient by being creative. Sometimes little funds are given to them and a kind of cooperative vocational centre are formed for them to make those of them very active to get into profitable ventures. Some of the benficiaries of the programme are today out of the streets and are doing well in their businesses. in the are of women, the issues of circumcission are discuused and discouraged while victims are taken care of and encouraged to remain good members of the society. Widows are assisted to survive the travails of the loss of their husdans/wives and the cahllenges of coping with hostile families who take the belongings of their deceased relations from the women. Ours is to bring hope to the hopleless, sucour to the depressed and future to the youths who have lost hope in the society through proper education, seminars, vocational programmes and cooperative ventures.

Organizational structure:	The organizational structure is as follows: National Coordinator State Coordinators Local Government Coordinators Programme officers Finance Director Experts on Programmes organized for the youths and women
Number and type of members:	Members are drawn from various sections of the country who share the vision of the organization. all beneficiaries of the programme of the organization are members to the extent of their particuipation and involvement. But the actual membership driving the vision of the Organization are 74 people comprising two people from each of the 36 states of Nigetria and 2 from the Capital Abuja.
