Organizational structure: |
The is owned by registered members who are all part of the General Assembly of Members (GAM). The General Assembly of Members (GAM) is the highest policy and decision-making body. It meets every six (6) months in ordinary session and as when necessary in extraordinary session. It establishes the group’s strategic goals, medium term objectives and annual achievement targets. It approves the annual budgets as well as project proposals. All matters relating to development and projects are debated and decided upon in a GAM plenary. The Executive Bureau (EXB) is responsible for managing the group’s affairs and its projects. It comprises seven (7) members elected by the GAM for a four (4) year term. The EXB meets every three (3) months. The EXB tracks overall project performance on behalf of the GAM through a monitoring, evaluation and audit system, decides on administrative and financial affairs and established achievement targets. |

Membership to AISDI is non-discriminatory. It is open to all who adhere to its ideals. It is made up of fifteen (15) individual members (Founders) and twelve (12) Organizations (Cooperative Societies and Common Initiative Groups) representing 677 members. AISDI has a staff of seven (7) workers and fourteen (14) Field Collaborators (Volunteers). |
