Mission statement:	The Hellenic Initiative (THI) is a global, nonprofit, apolitical, secular institution whose vision is to mobilize the Greek diaspora and philhellene community to invest in the future of Greece through programs focused on crisis relief, entrepreneurship and economic development. Our mission is to invest in the future of Greece through direct philanthropy and economic revitalization and develop sustainable economic and business improvement programs to empower the Greek people toward long-term prosperity. THI empowers people to provide crisis relief, encourage entrepreneurs, and create jobs. We are The Hellenic Initiative – a global movement of the Greek Diaspora. Founded in 2012 by members of the global Greek and philhellene communities, we were compelled to respond to the worsening economic crisis and inspired to help shape Greece’s long-term recovery. Our Board is united around three core beliefs: First, we are committed to Greece, faults and all. And we are dedicating our time, resources and networks to secure a different future. Second, this is about investment, not handouts. We are focused on impact and outcomes, whether it’s a grant to a nonprofit organization, mentorship for an emerging entrepreneur, or investment in a small business. What matters is impact, not effort. Third, we do not have all the answers but we know that across our global community we have what it takes to create a 21st century powerhouse, both within Greece and across the diaspora. And we will build it together. THI is committed to relief, recovery and renewal. Our programs share a common focus on responsible investment – in strong nonprofit organizations responding to the crisis today and in leaders, entrepreneurs and businesses creating opportunity for tomorrow. We bring people and issues together to promote collective action for a sustainable world. At the centre of our work is a larger constellation of entrepreneurial efforts aimed at addressing the many faceted needs of the THI budding startup ecosystem, where we conduct cutting-edge analysis, agree on global norms and advocate for progress through our emerging affiliates around the world. Our collective solutions advance sustainable development. THI believes that given the complexity of the new 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the challenge of integration will not be met without innovative solutions. Integration across sectors and between actors and institutions, is essential to drive forward and successfully implement the United Nations development agenda. This is what we are doing. Organizational structure:	The organizational structure of the parent entity, THI Inc., comprises an Executive Committee – 14 members with Honorary Chairman, Chairman, President, Secretary; Board of Directors – 38 Directors; Executive Director; Program Director; Development and Operations Manager. Affiliates: THI Australia comprises an Executive Committee of 4 members with President, Treasurer and Committee chairs; Board of Directors - 15 Directors; Program Manager. THI Canada comprises an Executive Committee - 6 Directors with Chairman, President and Secretary. THI UK launching Q4 2016 with similar organizational structure as THI Canada. Since our founding, THI has seen significant growth both in scale and in the support offered by the Greek diaspora. THI Inc. is the parent organization that is headquartered in New York and growing rapidly with affiliates opening in Australia with Canada and the UK expected to come online later this year.
