    Organizational structure: Civitas Maxima has been founded as an association under Swiss Law. Civitas Maxima's organs are: The General Assembly: composed of all members of the Association (nine persons). The General Assembly chooses among its members, for a period of one year, a Managing Committee composed of a Director, Treasurer and a Secretary for Civitas Maxima. The Managing Committee is responsible for carrying out the day-to-day operations of the Association. Civitas Maxima has a Committee of eight members responsible for developing the strategy and the principal orientation of the Association. It also provides any advice to the Association on pursuing the objectives set out in the Statutes and, if necessary, makes recommendations to the General Assembly. The Committee reviews the budget and the accounts of the Association.The members of the Committee are elected for one year by the General Assembly and their term is renewable each year for one year. Civitas Maxima has an Advisory Committee of twelve members including several law professors, two Queen’s Counselors, a former international Judge, an international Chief Prosecutor, a UN Special Rapporteur, a Member of the UN Human Rights Committee. Advisory Committee members are elected by the General Assembly for a two-year period and their mandate is renewable. Advisory Committee members can be consulted individually by the Committee and/or the Director on every issue raised in concrete cases carried out by the Association in furthering its statutory objectives
