Mission statement:	Union Theological Seminary is an independent, multi-denominational seminary in the City of New York whose mission derives from a Christian heritage that is at once progressive and evangelistic: to educate leaders for ministry in churches and related organizations, to extend the work of social justice and to enrich the academy through teaching and research. A program of Union Theological Seminary, the Center for Earth Ethics envisions a world where value is measured according to the sustained well-being of all people and our planet. Our mission is to cultivate the public consciousness needed to make changes in policy and culture that will establish a new values paradigm that is based on this vision of the world. To do this, we serve as a nexus point between policymakers and impacted communities; primarily Indigenous communities, faith groups, and front line communities.
