Mission statement:	Fields of Green for ALL has been established as a non-profit company to deal with all obstacles surrounding legalisation of the use of Cannabis in South Africa. As our name indicates, this is a place for ALL interested parties to unite behind a common cause in order to ensure that ALL citizens share in the benefits that Cannabis legalisation will bring to South Africa. Cannabis has been used for thousands of years and is no exception in many South African cultures. Following growing international trends, our aim is to restore Cannabis, the most researched plant in history, to its rightful place as a natural, safe and economically vital element of South African society. Under the terms of the South African Constitution, citizens reserve the right to individual freedom, a right that is not afforded to responsible Cannabis users. The gravest harm that one may experience from using Cannabis is being arrested and thus the prohibition of Cannabis directly results in the curtailing of personal freedom. This is first and foremost a human rights issue as thousands of South Africans are criminalised each year at great cost to themselves and society as a whole. At Fields of Green for ALL we support legal action to challenge the status quo. We are building a community of practise and support through active citizenry in order to highlight the harms of current Cannabis misinformation thereby reducing the stigma attached to the use of this plant. Fields of Green for ALL provides guidance for individuals and communities who have been marginalised by their use of, or trade in, the Cannabis plant. These individuals and communities are indiscriminately victimised by the law on many different social and economic levels. The proven health benefits of Cannabis are widely reported. The leaves, seeds and flowers may be used in various ways for a wide variety of conditions. The success in using Cannabis to treat many ailments and chronic illnesses is supported by extensive scientific research. It is a matter of urgency that those wishing to use Cannabis to treat life threatening diseases be granted the right to do so. However, those wishing to use this plant to help maintain optimum health and prevent disease should be offered the same right. Fields of Green for ALL supports the human right of all South Africans to use this plant for its health benefits. Industrial Cannabis or “hemp” refers to the use of the Cannabis stalk and seed for textiles, foods, paper, body care products, detergents, plastics and building materials. Cannabis is an ideal renewable source of biomass for fuel. Cannabis ethanol can be sustainably produced and is environmentally friendly. Industrial Cannabis is an exceptionally viable commercial crop for South Africa. Fields of Green for ALL supports the existing efforts by a number of parties to further research the plant and develop its full potential. However, this use of the plant is still illegal and the issue of its prohibition needs to be addressed before any realistic progress can be made in the sector. The discussion on the future of Cannabis in South Africa will require sensible input from various stakeholders on all aspects of the Cannabis market. We not only support the legalisation of Cannabis in South Africa, but also the development of constructive regulation and harm reduction programmes. Fields of Green for ALL is committed to creating awareness and local debate regarding the prospects of a formal legal Cannabis market in South Africa by being a catalyst for local and international engagement.
