Mission statement:	Aula Abierta is a NGO aimed to defend and promote human rights in the Latin American university community specifically the right to academic freedom, the right of university autonomy and the right to education through empowerment in university networks (students and professors) disseminating these rights through media impact strategies (social networks and social media), researching-documenting activities related to violations of human rights within the university community and the advocacy activity before national and international human rights protection bodies. Aula Abierta is an organization also focused on the promotion of democracy initiatives and social development accountability.
