Mission statement:	Le FIP a été créé en tant que partenariat mondial cherchant à avoir un impact positif sur l'éradication de la pauvreté, la réduction des inégalités et la promotion de la justice sociale et de la paix dans le monde. La mission du FIP consiste à créer les conditions et les capacités d'un travail collaboratif entre ses membres, à influencer les politiques publiques mondiales/internationales affectant le développement et la démocratie, tout en renforçant la capacité des plateformes d'ONG nationales et de leurs membres à s'engager dans des négociations officielles, des délibérations et des mobilisations publiques, tant au niveau national que régional/international.

Organizational structure:	-Une équipe dirigeante de 5 personnes, chargée de la coordination, de l'animation et de l'administration du réseau. -Un Conseil de 15 membres, créé en 2012 et renouvelé en 2015, élu par région, conformément aux Statuts, qui met en oeuvre les orientations politiques et stratégiques approuvées par l'Assemblée générale. Le Conseil est organisé autour d'un comité politique, composé de quatre coprésidents et cinq comités thématiques. -Une Assemblée générale, qui est l'organe suprême de prise de décision. L'Assemblée générale se tient au moins tous les trois ans, en fonction des financements disponibles. L'AG est composée d'un représentant de chaque membre titulaire (plateformes nationales), mais également de membres observateurs. Les membres associées (coalitions régionales) participent à l'AG avec une voix consultative mais non délibérative.
