CWEENS runs a fairly decentralized organisational structure, which serves as a basis for a consultative decision making process. The Board of Trustees is the highest decsion making body. It consists of 9 members (all women) ahd sets the general policy guidelines and directives. Next is the National Executive Council which is responsible for taking decisions on and overseeing the execution of programmes. It comprises portfolio executives and zonal coordinators from the 6 geopolitical zones representing the State Chapters. A program manager and management team oversee the day-to-day activities and implementation of projects. The staff team currently holds weekly feedback meetings (Monday morning) to ensure people are on-stream with project work plans on the basis of an M&E Plan which ensures effective checks and balances in programme/project management through timely and rigorous M&E Management Framework. This also ensures a transparent and efficient reporting schedule in compliance with laid down budget and expenditure guidelines. For instance, expenditure requests and approvals follow a well-structured channel from requesting officer through project manager, programme manager, assistant national coordinator (Admin.) and National Coordinator. The Staff Movement Notification Board helps to know where everybody is and what tasks they are working on. To facilitate workspace conflict management, we endeavour to maintain a culture of team collaboration for optimal synergy using an open door communication policy with red-flag mechanisms that give team members an opportunity to be heard in a non-threatening environment. This promotes joint ownership, individual initiative and good governance. |

CWEENS has a diverse, competent and passionate human resource base drawn from its membership, staff, volunteers and partners. Our skills bank consists of people who are able to serve as reliable team players in the effective implementation of projects. There are currently about 200 members based in different parts of the country and have embarked on a nationwide expansion drive. We have 8 State Chapters in Cross River, Ebonyi, Edo, FCT Abuja, Kaduna, Lagos, Ogun, and Plateau States. We have thirteen non-waged executive members, at least seven (7) of who are actively involved in the day-to-day management of operations. Our twelve (12) full-time staff team comprises two program/project managers, and four project officers in media & advocacy, data management/ICT, trauma counselling, M&E, and gender rights education (GEMS) in addition to administration, accounting and support staff. In addition, we have six (6) dedicated volunteers. CWEENS serves as the coordinating CSO for Plateau State on Violence Affecting Women and Girls (VAWG). Our Observatory Steering Committee is a multi-sector critical and strategic human resource pool consisting of 30 senior managers and executives from the security, justice and law enforcement, health, education, voluntary, and public sectors. |
