Orphaned Starfish Foundation is a registered 501(c)3 headquartered in New York City. OSF is led by Founder & Executive Chairman Andrew Stein, employs a staff of five—Development Director, Finance Director, Marketing Director, Finance Director, Associate Director—and receives support from 40 volunteers. OSF is governed by a 14-member Board of Directors that oversees all of the Foundation’s yearly activities and ensures that OSF’s programming is conducted in accordance with our mission. We partner with local organizations, including orphanages, transitional homes, and community centers, to provide orphans, victims of abuse and trafficking, indigenous children, and other at-risk youth in technology education and vocational training. All programs are taught by local teachers. All of our income is raised through donations from individuals, foundations, and corporations. Only 10% of our budget goes toward administrative expenses, with the rest of the funds directly supporting our students. Approximately $120 is spent per student annually. All OSF staff, board members, and volunteers are focused on the priorities of programmatic excellence, managerial integrity, and fiscal responsibility. |

OSF is not a membership organization, but a nonprofit foundation that provides direct social services to at-risk populations. We serve youths ages 5 to 20 that come from disadvantaged backgrounds -- almost all have had no access to technology or interaction with computers prior to participating in OSF's programs. Currently, OSF serves 13,000 children at 60 program sites in 27 countries in Latin America, Africa, Asia, the United States, and the South Pacific. |
