FIVA is an association (federation) that is established in conformity with French law. Its members are federations and associations in nearly 70 countries around the globe, supporting FIVA's objectives for the country or region they are established in. These so called National Members meet at least once a year for FIVA's General Assembly, the organisational body with the highest authority and wherein these members have voting rights. FIVA is governed by its General Committee (GC), with around 10 members, each responsible for a certain area of activities or interest. FIVA also has a number of Commissions, which mostly are chaired by a GC member. All FIVA officials are volunteers, only FIVA's General Secretary, working at FIVA's head office in Turin/Italy receives a salary. In each country where FIVA has members one member has the position of an ANF (National Authority FIVA), the member organization that is appointed by FIVA as its first representative for dealing with the interests of the historic vehicle movement in that country and also the only organisation entitled to issue FIVA Identity Cards, which are certificates documenting a specific historic vehicles, in accordance with uniform standards as developed by FIVA. |
