Mission statement:	Purpose and Objectives The overall purpose of AFA is to contribute to the reduction of street crimes as well as the promotion of security in the country by transforming the lives of the country’s homeless, poverty-stricken and marginalized children and youth into self-sufficient men and women through community based development programs with five core pillars: reintegration/rehabilitation, psycho-social counseling, vocational training, community outreach, and business lending. AFA seeks to achieve the following objectives: - work and collaborate with relevant government agencies and ministries as well as local and international institutions through a more holistic approach to boost the self-esteem of wayward children and youth offering them a sense of belonging, decency and hope for a brighter future; - empower underprivileged children and youth to shape their own future with confidence through technical and vocational training; - create awareness of the root causes of juvenile delinquency, identify and implement psycho-social programs aimed at boosting self-esteem; - undertake socio-cultural programs and introduce networking mechanisms to support the reintegration of direct and indirect victims of war into society; - encourage volunteerism and participation in community development; - establish a conducive environment to support all of the above.
