    Organizational structure: The EFTC is composed of the following organs: the General Assembly, the Board and the Secretariat. The General Assembly is composed of all member organisations of the association. It meets at least once a year, and has the powers namely to change the constitution; to ratify membership admissions; to appoint or dismiss members of the Board and to elect the President, Vice-Presidents and other positions; to adopt the budget; among many others described in the Statutes. As per the decision-making process, in the General Assembly every member has equal voting rights and decisions are taken by a majority vote of the attending or represented members. In case of equality of votes, the votes of the President decides. Voting takes place by show of hands, although it can be by secret ballot if a fifth of the members present requests it. The Board is composed at least of three persons of different organizations that do not have organizational links; the number of board members is less than the total amount of full members in the General Assembly. The mandate of the members of the Board expires after a period of four year or at the next election following. Members are eligible for re-election. The President, Vice-presidents, Secretary, Honorary Vice-Presidents, auditors and every function necessary for a good practice of the association will be elected and appointed by the General Assembly. The Board meets at least once a year, and takes decisions by simple majority. It has the powers namely to determine guidelines and general policy of the association; to draw up the accounts and budget; to pronounce membership applications and suspensions from membership; or to appoint permanent sections or ad hoc committees; among other functions described in the Statutes. The Secretariat is in charge of maintaining contact with other international organizations and sending information to member organisations regarding meetings, conferences, training programmes, etc. It also receives membership applications. It collects information material on therapy development, rehabilitation, prevention, research and training, and sends a newsletter to all members. The Secretariat is elected for five years.
