    Organizational structure: MCIC is a coalition of Manitoba-based organizations that are working in the field of international development and cooperation. We are committed to international cooperation that ensures a just world for all. Members of the Council implement development, cooperation and relief projects around the world, in line with our development principles (based on the Istanbul Principles): Respect and promote human rights and justice, embody gender equality and equity while promoting women and girls’ rights, focus on people’s empowerment, democratic ownership and participation, promote environmental sustainability, practice transparency and accountability, pursue equitable partnerships and solidarity, create and share knowledge and commit to mutual learning, and commit to realizing positive sustainable change. MCIC supports, connects and amplifies the work of our members and partners. We directly engage and collaborate with Manitobans for global sustainability. MCIC is governed by a board of directors elected from among its membership.
    Number and type of members: MCIC currently has 42 regular organizational members and 1 affiliate organizational member within the council. Membership in MCIC is open to non-governmental organizations working in Manitoba which support international development cooperation, meet the membership criteria as established by the Board of Directors, and have objectives and programs in harmony with MCIC’s principles of: Sustainability, Partnership, Capacity and Commitment to do Public Engagement, Transparency and Accountability, Openness, Integrity, and Governance.
