Organizational structure: |
the Association is comprised of a president who is elected by its members for a two year mandate at its annual general meeting and is a full-time position. the president is part of an executive council comprised of vice-president and secretary/treasurer whose elections by its members alternates from that of the president. the executive is part of the board of directors who include one representative of 9 of the 11 nations within the region of Quebec along with a seat for the urban Indigenous women and one for Indigenous youth. the board provides direction and conducts administrative decisions on behalf of its members. the annual general meeting provides the board and the office staff of the Association with direction by its members on issues affecting Indigenous women at all levels of the global society. each nation conducts its own activities but must conduct its actions according the constitution of the Association. |

there are approximately 2,000 Indigenous women who are members from the on and off-reserve communities. the association also welcomes members of civil society or individuals who are not Indigenous to be friends of the Association. QNW also welcomes membership of all Indigenous women of the Americas |
