Mission statement:	The Mental Disability Advocacy Center (MDAC) advances the human rights of children and adults with actual or perceived intellectual or psycho-social disabilities. MDAC uses a combination of law and advocacy to promote equality and social integration. MDAC has participatory status with the Council of Europe. MDAC's vision is for a world that values emotional, mental and learning differences, and where people respect each others autonomy and dignity. MDAC has programming in Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Egypt, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Kyrgyz Republic, Russian Federation and Sierra Leone.

Organizational structure:	MDAC is registered as a nongovernmental organisation (foundation) in Hungary. It is governed by a Board of Trustees, who are all volunteers and who meet three times a year. The Board appoints, appraises and dismisses the Executive Director, who is the chief operating officer of the organisation.
Number and type of members:	MDAC is not a membership organisation, and nor does it report to any other organisation. MDAC works in partnerships with NGOs in several different countries to carry out its work.
