Mission statement:	To protect scholars today for a better tomorrow. Scholars at Risk is an international network of institutions and individuals working to promote academic freedom and to defend higher education professionals and other knowledge producers facing threats to their lives and work. Scholars at Risk offers safety by arranging temporary academic positions at member universities and colleges, so scholars’ ideas are not lost and they can keep working until conditions improve and they can return to their home countries. Scholars at Risk also provides advisory services for visiting scholars and their hosts, campaigns for scholars who are imprisoned or silenced in their home countries, and leadership in deploying new tools and strategies for promoting academic freedom and improving respect for university values everywhere.
