Mission statement:	The Associated Labor Unions-Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (ALU-TUCP) since its inception in 1954 has been consistent in its campaign to uplift the standard living of the working masses not only through the traditional process of collective bargaining, but also through its pioneering ventures in the non-traditional dimension of trade unionism which includes the establishment of soci-economic projects and welfare services for its membership. Likewise, issues on environmental maters and sustainable development programs are also included in its mission based on the underlying principle that occupationaland environmental issues are no longer confined within the premises of the workplace. The struggle for safe and decent workplaces cannot be segregated from the fight to protect the natural environment. Moreover, the history of the union throughout the years of existence is due to its socio-political orientation and philosophy as manifested in its activities, projects and programs.
