Young Professionals' Chronic Disease Network

Mission statement:	The young professionals’ Chronic Disease Network (yp-CDN) is a nodal, transnational network of the millennial generation anchored that offers a new mode of coordinated action to address the complexities of the major global public health issue of the 21st century, chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs). We aspire to address NCDs from a social justice perspective. As tomorrow’s leaders, we work together today. We do so by uniting passionate people from a diversity of backgrounds interests and across thirty nations via innovative, dynamic online social media platforms. We foster global-local collaborations and information technology to serve as a global “incubator” to identify, mature and support the next generation’s world-changing, bold ideas. What’s more we reject a top-down 'push' approach or a unilateral mode of thinking, and endorse a democratic, transparent mode of priority emanating from the bottom-up. We provide a safe and unique innovation space to re-imagine how we want (and choose) to live.

Organizational structure:	Steering committee composed of young leaders of the Working groups on (Tobacco, Building a youth social movement, Policy/Funding, Education/Training, Country Case-Studies). Working groups are composed of members globally. The organization is led by a Chair and Co-Chair.

Funding structure:	Donations and grants from domestic sources
