Mission statement:	Environment and Society Association is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) , incorporated as a nonprofit entity under Colombian law , and founded in 2012. The founders of the organization's members are professionals in anthropology, law and economics, and have over 25 years experience in the field of defense and promotion of the environment and human rights. The Environment and Society Association is an organization of professionals specializing in environmental matters that seeks to create positive changes in regulations, policies, decision-making processes , and practices on environmental issues , promoting the full implementation of the rights of participation access to information on civil society and transparency of public and private entities, mainly working with affected communities , youth groups and women. our Institutional objective is Achieving an effective implementation of regulations and policies through access to information, participation in environmental material , reaching a change in the standards of sustainable development. we work in three principal areas: 1. Climate change, forest communities and mechanisms for mitigation and adaptation Objective: To strengthen the capacity of community organizations from implementing international and national institutional guidelines on climate change, risk reduction , mitigation and adaptation to climate change, poverty reduction and sustainable development. Impact to local , regional and national institutions in the implementation of policies on climate change, poverty reduction and sustainable development from a human rights perspective . 2. Citizenship, access to information and participation in environmental matters Objective: The overall objective is to generate a greater and more effective participation of civil society in the processes of environmental development at local, national and international level , and in forums and decision-making bodies , including government institutions, and institutions international financial . Environment and Society seeks to develop advocacy to guarantee individual and collective information and participation rights and require public institutions and multilateral banks fulfill their obligations both in compliance with environmental standards and the implementation and development of effective mechanisms for civil society participation . Three . Impacts of development projects, and participation in decision-making spaces overall Objective: To Monitor sector policies especially infrastructure that States promotes with financial support from multilateral and national development banks that causes social and environmental impacts.
