Purpose of the organization: |
To facilitate a process of establishing a just society and enabling the underprivileged people to gain power and have choices to lead a better and qualitative life – with control and access over reproductive resources.
NYSASDRI's development initiatives are based on community participation. Our goal is to increase public participation in the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of our programs. Our strategic approach consists of

Activities relevant to the conference of States Parties to the convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities: |
Micro credit support for peoples with disability persons has been implemented by NYSASDRI in Govindpur village under Sadar block, Santhasara, Santhapur, Erenda, Bajuria, Balijoranda and Nayakateni villages under Gondia block of Dhenkanal District of Odisha. We have aided the loan recipients with vocational training, self-help groups, and with opening back accounts so that they can safely manage their money. There were a total of 45 recipients of microloans, where each loan amount was dependent on assessed need of the individual based on their plans. Recipients were then considered participants of the microloan entrepreneurship program. In addition to the training surrounding the microcredit program, advocacy groups of disability people were formed in each community so that they could lobby the government and have their voices heard concerning needs that must be met. |
Confirmation of the activities of the organization at the regional, national or international level: |
NYSASDRI organized various seminar, workshop and convention at state, national and international level on right to persons with disabilities. In the cross-cultural programme to address disabilities and autism in India and Europe was implemented successfully. This research project was being implemented in India, Germany, and the United Kingdom by Dortmund University of Applied Science, Germany; NYSASDRI, Odisha; Utkal University, Odisha, India; Bolton University, United Kingdom; and Klaus Novy Institute, Cologne, Germany. The purpose of this project was to promote scientific and professional knowledge and skills for a better understanding of the qualities of social networks in Europe and India.
The contributions of NYSASDRI to this project were the development of two research studies, preparation of a guidebook for volunteers and professionals, development and analysis of case studies on disability, and development of a directory of support organizations and individuals working in the field of disabilities. NYSASDRI also spread knowledge about the Circle of Support approach among development organizations through media, workshops, and conferences. In addition this state level and national level organized and participated seminar and capacity building training on Community based rehabilitation for persons with disability and self help support programme for micro entrepreneurship development progrmme for persons with disability. . |

NYSASDRI's strengthening Women members through self-help group at community level and built their capacity in decision making, participation in panchayat Raj election( local self governance), leadership and as a result women are independently frequent visit to bank, block, educational institution, hospital and other government institution . Women groups are taking part in economic activity in terms of different micro entrepreneurship activities and raising money for their livelihood . Many women are raising voice about violence against women and gender based violence in the society. Many time conducted group exercises to facilitate a brain storming discussion on gender discrimination and sensitized to avoid such discrimination at first at their own homes and then to propagate so in a bigger circle in community. Also imparting training and aware them on right based approaches and fundamental right of women and girls in the society .In addition this rendering legal support , vocational training and rehabilitation support to distress women and girls, counseling and reconciliation services to family disturbance cases, residential school facilities for tribal girls in low literacy area and financial support to vulnerable women for micro entrepreneurship activities |
