Mission statement:	RDC is an independent think-tank and consultancy organization dedicated to the advancement of sustainable human development in Egypt and the Arab region through the promotion of Democracy, Good governance and the Rule of Law. With an overarching concern for women, youth and disadvantaged groups, RDC seeks to address developmental challenges by targeting three overlapping sectors: Promotion & Protection of Human Rights; Civic & Political Participation; and Accountability & Transparency. Capitalizing on the opportunities offered by new information and communication technologies in the field of human development, RDC achieves its mission by implementing the following activities: ¿ Capacity-building targeting civil society organizations and governmental institutions (developing educational materials, delivering on and off-line trainings, providing technical assistance and tailored consultations in areas ranging from project management and use of new media tools to advocacy campaigning or rights monitoring) and Community Empowerment (running education campaigns, realizing grass-root awareness-raising activities, organizing debates and forums on issues of public interest, etc.); ¿ Research on the subjects of New Medias, Good Governance, Human Rights and Democracy (including a specific program of study on the connections between Religion and Democracy); as well as public policies Analysis and community projects Evaluation; ¿ Coordination of Advocacy campaigns involving a wide range of specialized civil society organizations and activists. Headquartered in Cairo with satellite offices in Qena and Sharqiya and a varied array of local partners across the country, RDC enjoys unparalleled access to the most remote and least developed areas of the nation and an in-depth knowledge of the local operating environment. Besides, thanks to its strong network of external consultants and experts, RDC is quickly becoming a leading partner of international think-tanks, NGOs and donors.
