    Year of registration: 2006
    Organizational structure: Advocates for International Development (A4ID) is a corporate body registered in England and Wales (number 05907641) and is also a charity registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales (charity number 1118565). It was established under a Memorandum of Association, which created the objects and powers of the charitable company, and is governed under its Articles of Association. Policy making and general oversight of A4ID are conducted by the Directors, who are also trustees of the charity, at quarterly Board meetings and on an ad hoc basis between Board meetings. Day-to-day management is provided by the CEO, supervised by the Chair of the Board of Directors and reporting directly to the Board. A4ID has 6 full time and 4 part time staff members based in the UK, Kenya, India and the USA.
    Number and type of members: A4ID has relationships with people and organisations known as our legal partners, development partners and individual members. We currently have over 750 active development partners and 45 legal partners that give us access to over 53,000 lawyers in over 100 countries. Our development partners are non-profit organisations, bar associations, developing country governments and social enterprises from around the world for whom we find suitable legal experts. Our network of legal partners consists of law firms, companies with in-house legal teams and barristers that provide pro bono legal support to development organisations working towards the eradication of poverty. Our individual members are law students, lawyers, legal academics, development specialists, and non-legal academics; they are eligible to play a role in A4ID’s governance by voting for the Trustees.
