Mission statement:	WomenNC's mission is to lead North Carolina’s young adults in the elimination of injustices against women and girls through leadership development and advocacy programs. Our vision is to raise a generation that honors women's human rights. WomenNC’s UN CSW Student Fellowship Program is our signature leadership project. WomenNC annually sponsors a group of high achieving and passionate university student applicants to participate in CSW. Each fellow presents their findings at CSW after intensive research on challenges facing North Carolina women and “best practice” programs that may be replicated globally. Fellows return to NC to share ideas and global perspective at regional community forums; completing the Local-to-Global-to-Local cycle. WomenNC alumni fellows exhibit local, national and international leadership roles. Our advocacy and outreach programs aim to bring awareness to the community regarding issues of social injustice, gender inequalities and to encourage solutions to affect change. We collaborate with many regional and national non-profit advocacy groups. The tenants of CEDAW are the foundation of our advocacy platform. WomenNC is spearheading implementation of Cities for CEDAW in North Carolina and partnering with influential groups to encourage CEDAW adoption by regional officials. Since inception, WomenNC encouraged US Senate ratification of the CEDAW treaty.

Organizational structure:	Non-Profit 501(c)3, voluntary organization with five functional committees including Advocacy and Outreach, CSW Student Fellowship, Public Relations, Fund Development and Administration. Each Board Member, excluding the President, is a Chairperson of one of the Committees. We have an Advisory Board whose membership consists of representatives of universities, non-profit affiliates, local government organizations, previous WomenNC Board members and individuals.
Number and type of members:	We have over 1400 opt-in listserv members. Four hundred plus persons attend our events regularly, with 300 individual, university partner, and non-profit donors to WomenNC and our Student Fellowship Program.
