Advancement of Women

Affiliation with other organizations: WomenNC is a member of an umbrella organization locally, NC Women United which consists of a large number of organizations, includes Interact, NOW-local, IPAS, NERAL,etc. We regularly network with and support programs with other local, national & international groups such as UNWomen USA, UNA-USA, US Women Connect, Church Women United, Soroptimist Intl., AAUW, ACLU, PeaceAction, NC Coalition Against Sexual Assault & Rape. We are a member of PAT - Partner Against Human Trafficking. WomenNC's annual signature CSW university student fellowship program is a product of association with academic institutions and departments including Women's Studies, International Relations/Political Science & Entrepreneurship/Business.
Publications: Quarterly Newsletters, listserv emails 4 X a month regarding global status of women, local education and issue-driven events,WomenNC activities, and CEDAW, Tri-Fold collateral adjusted 4 x a year for specific events and dissemination, press releases 6 X a year.

WomenNC has organized parallel events at CSW 54, 55 & 56, by providing a panel of North Carolina University Student Fellows to present research findings based on the CSW Priority Theme (13 students have presented to-date). One of the aspects of our mission is to encourage the ratification of CEDAW treaty in the United States. we work as a grass roots organization and share the tenets and importance of CEDAW at local meetings. We are a member of CEDAW Task Force USA and participate in their national campaign for US ratification of CEDAW
