    Organizational structure: The Centre for Health Science and Law is a non-profit organization and registered under federal legislation in Canada. It is not registered as a charity because current Canadian laws severely restrict public policy advocacy of charities during and between elections.
    Number and type of members: CHSL is a public education and public health advocacy organization focus on food issues. Although its advice to governments and public statements are based on the best available scientific evidence and legal analysis, it draws on public opinion research and activity communicates its views to the scientific and legal community and the general public by publishing in peer-reviewed journals, in its magazine and in through general interest print and boradcast media.
