Organizational structure: |
The organization is operated by a board of directors elected by the general membership. The board members represent nine geographical regions of the United States. The board meets on a quarterly basis to review project activities and financial status of the organization. The president appoints committees to oversees project and programs. |
Number and type of members: |
The membership of Self Advocates Becoming Empowered shall be people with and without disabilities who believe in the purpose of the organization. Voting members shall be people who have a disability as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act. Nonvoting members shall be people without disabilities. The categories of membership are Voting Members, Nonvoting Members, and Corporate Members.
