    Organizational structure: The organization is operated by a board of directors elected by the general membership. The board members represent nine geographical regions of the United States. The board meets on a quarterly basis to review project activities and financial status of the organization. The president appoints committees to oversees project and programs.
    Number and type of members: The membership of Self Advocates Becoming Empowered shall be people with and without disabilities who believe in the purpose of the organization. Voting members shall be people who have a disability as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act. Nonvoting members shall be people without disabilities. The categories of membership are Voting Members, Nonvoting Members, and Corporate Members. Current board members: Bernard Baker - President, Vicki Wray - Vice President, Darren Morris - Treasurer, Eric McVay - Secretary, David Taylor Jr. - Sergeant at Arms, Board members: Melody Cooper, Diana Mairose, Gary Rubin, Anne Fracht, Roger Crome
