The Board of Trustees– The Board of Trustees is made up of a 5-member team and Board of Advisers 3 member team headed by the Board Chair who must at all-time be a woman, and a renewable tenor of two years each. Knowledge transfer and continuity is encouraged amongst all members of board of trustees’ hence the need for an extended tenor. This becomes more important should there be need for a transfer of knowledge from one trustee to another within a certain period of time. The board is expected to sit at least twice in a year and not more than 3 times in one year. This unit is the highest decision making body of the organization.
The Management Team – The management team is made up the ED/CEO, Project Lead, HR and the Finance Team. It comprises the leadership for daily operations of the organization and management of funds. They consistently share the visions of the organization with the members of team on the lower hierarchy as well as take the visions to the Board of Trustees for endorsement, support and reviews. The management team is mandated to have a bi-monthly meeting to review organization’s progress in terms of grants, projects, successes, challenges and identify red flags.
Staff & Volunteers – This group is made up of the unit often referred to as foot soldiers. They are responsible for executing the directives of the management team and are often times the links between the communities/beneficiaries and the management team who provide an oversight and leadership functions in ensuring that the organization fulfil its mandate. |
