Mission statement:	Solar Cookers International to solve the problem of inadequate household cooking energy facing nearly 3 billion people on our planet. Since human health, quality of life, and environments are affected by cooking fuel choices, solar cookers offer a sustainable solution to the difficult choices nearly half of all families make every day: whether to buy energy, or to buy food and other family needs. Increasing deforestation has reduced the availability of biomass energy for cooking and water pasteurization needs. Solar thermal cooker technology is sustainable and environmentally responsible, helps families fight poverty and disease, and changes women’s and children’s lives for the better. Solar cookers provide zero-emission cooking and water pasteurization solutions. Solar Cookers International operates globally through a combination of projects, partnerships, advocacy and outreach to the global community. We engage and energize the Solar Cookers International Network, supporting more than 500 organizations and individuals around the world who share solar thermal cooking knowledge, particularly with those who have the greatest need.
