Millennium Development Goals:	Achieve universal primary education
Mission statement:	• To take part in the mission of the Church by promoting in the world an educational project of catholic inspiration. • To promote the creation, before educational establishments of "Educational communities" in which all the partners work in an interdependent and responsible way to the educational and cultural academic progress, thus with the development of an evangelic spirit, while paying a special attention the most disinherited and welcoming, in the respect of the consciences, all those which trust this school. • To promote investigation on the specific contribution of Catholic schools in the education field and on the adaptation of the school to the needs, realities and expectations of the world in which they live. • To create and develop links for mutual help, and active and responsible solidarity between its members. • To act as a network for exchanges between its members for its own information and this of educators, by means of communication development. • To represent Catholic education by the International Bodies, particularly those concerned by education. • To collaborate with the universal Church organizations, with Bishops’ Conferences and other international Catholic organizations concerned by education. • To defend and promote the effective exercising of freedom of education according to distributive justice, and to favor relations of mutual recognition and association between Catholic education and the countries in which it works.

Organizational structure:	• General Assembly: composed of all the constituent and associate members, it is the supreme organ of the Office. It meets every four years. • Board: composed by 24 deliberative members, representing all the regions, it is elected by the General Assembly. The Board elects its President and Vice-Presidents. Reflection and deliberation group. It controls the implementation of the General Assembly’s decisions. It meets once a year. • The Secretary General: elected by the General Assembly, he organizes and leads the General Secretariat, executive organ of the Office. He coordinates and animates the activity of the Regional Secretariats and Permanent Representations. He represents the Office in its external relations. • The Regional Secretaries: animate the activities of the Office at regional level. Regions are: Africa, with a head office in Dakar (Senegal); America, Bogota (Colombia); Asia, Manila (Philippines); Europe, Brussels (Belgium) and the Middle East and North Africa in Beirut (Lebanon). • Permanent Representatives: with International Institutions are accredited in Paris (UNESCO), Geneva (UNICEF), Rome (Vatican), Strasbourg (Council of Europe) and New York (UN).
