Mission statement:	Alliances for Africa (AfA) works to interface local, national, sub-regional and international inititatives on human rights, peace and sustainable development. AfA acts as a facilitator for generating and disseminating information within the field, pertinent to Africa. AfA aims to enhance and strenghten on a sustainable basis, local,national,sub-regional and regional institutions in Africa active in the monitoring,advancing,promoting and protecting of human rights, peace and sustainable development initiatives. AfA represents a fresh and practical approach by developing a multi-disciplinary approach, involving institutional capacity building, education, training and skills updating, international outreach and advocacy, South to South and North to South exchanges. AfA's core activities are organised under a four point agenda, namely: 1. Human rights, peace and poverty/sustainable development; 2. Coalition building, monitoring and networking; 3. Training and Capacity-Building 4. Community development Alliances for Africa (AfA) is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission in Nigeria in 2000 (Registration No: LAZ.091624). AfA upgraded its status as a Company limited by Guarantee in Nigeria in 2007 (Registration No: RC720437).

The organisation is managed by the Executive Director who leads a team of programmes officers, assistants, interns, admin staff and volunteers.
