EJF is headed by founding Directors Steve Trent and Juliette Williams who lead a team of 14 full time staff in London (UK), 1 member of staff in Berlin (Germany), 1 staff member in Madrid, (Spain), 2 staff in Bonthe and 3 staff in Freetown (Sierra Leone), 1 staff member in Robertsport and 1 in Monrovia (Liberia), 1 staff member in Accra (Ghana) and 1 in Ivory Coast. EJF's team in West Africa all report to a coordinator based in London who oversees their work on fisheries. All other staff either report to the Communications Coordinator, Deputy Director or founding Directors. EJF work includes: Oceans - ending illegal, unregulated and unreported fishing and ensuring sustainable marine environments for coastal communities (with a focus on West Africa) - ending human trafficking in seafood supply chains (with a focus on South East Asia) - building transparency in global seafood supply chains. Climate Change - building recognition, protection and assistance for climate refugees Pesticides - raising awareness of the hazards and ending the use of the most toxic pesticides Bees - raising awareness of the vital role of bees to food production and building support for their protection Cotton - raising awareness of the social and environmental impacts of cotton production - building greater transparency in global cotton supply chains - |
