ASWHAN has a Board of Trustees (BoT) comprising eminent personalities from the legal profession, health, gender as well as private sector. The BoT holds the properties and assets of the association in trust and are responsible for registering the organization with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
The General Assembly, which is the highest decision-making body of the organization, comprises of representatives of all its 37 State chapters as well as the 6 geo-political regional zones of the country.
The General Assembly elects an Executive Committee comprising of 11 National Executives and 2 Zonal Executives from each of the 6 geo-political regional zones of the country.
Each of the 37 State Chapters of the association has a State Executive Committee which support groups of women living with HIV are affiliated to.
Women living with HIV are expected to join support groups located in their communities. |

Members of the association are full members who join the association through the support groups of women living with HIV.
ASWHAN has a membership of over 7,500 women in 183 support groups of women living with HIV spread all over the country. |
