Organizational structure: For decades many leadership/youth entertainment and entrepreneurial organizations have emerged to support talented youths with developmental educational and entertainment programs. Unfortunately, a large percentage of our youth continues to lag behind in actualizing their God-given talents. Something has apparently been missing. For this reason, a new organization has been formed to work on this problem with a new approach: edutainment, a means of educating via education and entertainment. ALOT-LYRICS EDUTAINMENT (ALE) is a registered premier non profit organization, a youth entertainment and educational organization whose idea was born in September, 2008 and was officially initiated in December 2008 by Mr Egwim Darlington Obinna (Stage name; Dofe), at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, with assistance of Mr Noel McGrevy, M.A. of mataPASIFIKA FILM PRODUCTIONS, Auckland, New Zealand, to fill this important gap. Observing the present trend in entertainment to be heavily influenced from the United States , it seems imperative that we affirm and actualize our own contributions, recognizing the already huge contribution of Africa to the Western music and arts scene. By this means, we can elevate the role of entertainment and entrepreneurship to more than flashy diversion and demonstrate a higher role for the entertainer than just sex symbol. Edutainment, art in the service of humanity, can inform and inspire a world which is almost indifferent to many of the serious social abuses and problems which present entertainment trends largely either trivialize or ignore. The arts of entertainment, coupled with powerful messages, can transform a cynical, divided world of self indulgence into a mutually supportive and uplifting community of artists who can transform their societies. The hope is to harness the same sort of effort and energy as was organized in 1984 for the Band Aid concerts to aid Ethiopia ’s famine sufferers, but to make the supportive and humanitarian aspects of this a continuing reality. A thought to be considered: If the world's people were to spend as much effort and expense as they presently spend on war and weapons on festivals of world cultures and supporting one another instead, this world would be transformed overnight. Edutainment is thus a means for the transforming of individuals and societies. Young people who catch this vision can be part of this transforming force through song, dance, instrumental abilities, drama, film, literature, artwork. Each can be a means of inspiration to others as God is honored through selfless service to others. In sum, ALE is a non-political, non-sectarian, socially oriented youth entertainment forum with open membership for young men and women of friendly disposition to boost their fertile minds by means of edutainment. ALE is committed to raising talented youths to international performance standards. ALE exists to make a difference by initially building a united team of young people from all parts of our great country in order to raise awareness of our need to contribute to the stability of our nation, to increase appreciation of our differences and what we have in common, to create favorable attitudes towards all humans as our family and, ultimately, to motivate ourselves to take socially responsible action using our God-given potential talents and creativity for the enhancement of the lives of all of us. This effort is envisaged to expand from the national to international level.
