Mission statement:	The Egyptian Association for Dissemination and Development of Legal Awareness (EADDLA) is a civil not-for profit association, registered 2004 as NGO with the Ministry of Social Solidarity under the number 1934. EADDLA consists of a group of specialists in the areas of law and work with the civil society. Mission statement A democratic society must be conscious of its rights and duties, it must be aware of its constitutional and legal rights in order to defend its interests. The society must be able to defend the values of equality, justice and freedom to ensure that its citizens can keep this freedom. EADDLA works on empowering the civil society by spreading awareness of existing rights, providing technical expertise and offering its own close connections with responsible authorities. EADDLA seeks to disseminate the culture of human rights and to reach all Egyptian citizens – including marginalized groups - in order to rehabilitate the society’s awareness of its rights. EADDLA teaches and informs how to practice democracy. Aims • Raising and developing awareness for legal and constitutional rights. • Empowerment of women and youth to help them to exercise their right of participation, and to help them to positively interact with and within their communities. • Mobilization of civil society organizations to defend the rights of the citizens. • Capacity building for media and civil society institutions in the areas of democratic development and social justice. • Building bridges of trust, understanding and acceptance with and within communities in Egypt and abroad. • EADDLA reaches its aims through awareness programmes, trainings, researche, studies and networking with civil society organizations locally, regionally and internationally. Policy • EADDLA directs all its services and efforts towards spreading awareness of rights for all citizens regardless of race, gender, religion, social status or political affiliation. • EADDLA believes in growth and progress of human rights • Youth of both genders are of special concern for EADDLA and have priority in all activities. EADDLA knows that the youth of today will be the builders of the society in future. • EADDLA believes in the value of teamwork and partnership on local and international level. • The work of EADDLA is based on the principles of transparency, accountability, internal and external evaluation, and constructive critique as a means of enhancing performance.
