Mission statement:	PRO.ME.TRA is as much a cultural research, medical practices, scientific diffusion organization, than an instrument for African integration and international relations through the revalorization of traditional medicines, old religions and universal spirituality. PROMETRA International has the role of promoting and protecting traditional medicine and endogenous sciences. Since August 2004, PROMETRA Interanational benefited of a Headquarters Agreement with the Governement of Senegal Republic which confers it a diplomatical status. Its mission is accomplished through: 1) scientific research and medical services of traditional medicine 2) education, training and advocacy 3) scientific, cultural and spiritual exchanges. PROMETRA international has its headquarters in Dakar, Senegal and has 26 chapters officially recognized through the world. ROMETRA - OBJECTIVES To allow PROMETRA to freely exert easily its missions and its objectives, the Government of Senegal granted a diplomatic recognition. Indeed, on August 4, 2004, this diplomatic validity is sealed by the signature of a Headquarters Agreement the between the Government and the Organization for the Promotion of Traditional Medicines (PROMETRA). - GENERAL OBJECTIVE PRO.ME.TRA is an International Organization which has as general objective the Promotion of Traditional Medicines and the creation of links among cultures throughout the world. The specific objectives of PRO.ME.TRA are summarized as follows: - To organize at the national level, leaders of ancient religions, traditional cult priests and traditional healers in order to allow them to fully play their role, - To bring technical assistance in projects related to the rehabilitation of Traditional Medicines, ancient Religions and universal spirituality, - To document the basis of a science not well known, for a better understanding of the rationality of African practice, - To train traditional healers as true IEC - Information - Education - Communication agents for their local population using the FAPEG educational method, which is pedagogical method of healers’ self proficiency training process, developed by PRO.ME.TRA, - To redefine some questionable practices of modern medicine, such as over vaccination, horizontal delivery..,
