Mission statement:
PROVIDE MULTI-SECTORAL INTERVENTIONS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT AND EMPOWERMENT OF GIRLS AND WOMEN AND ACHIEVE EMPOWERMENT THROUGH ENLIGTHENMENT. EWEI was founded in April 2008 with a vision of providing multi-sectoral interventions towards the empowerment of women and improving the lives of women through capacity building and advocacy. Sustainable development is only achievable through investment in human capital resources. It is no secret that women waste away under the bondage of ignorance about opportunities and resources that they can use to improve their welfare, professionalism and well being or are unable to access such resources due to socio-cultural norms and practices. Numerous opportunities abound for women both locally and internationally which can address the various issues that have long kept them and this nation at large under-developed and poverty stricken. Needlessly countless children and women die of preventable causes like malaria, HIV/AIDS, lack of proper child and maternal care. Change can only come when women come to a realization of their abilities and the need for them to take an active part in decision making and policy formation. EWEI seeks to bring such information to women through the use of the internet, seminars, newsletters and various other interventions. EWEI was officially registered by the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria on the 6th of June, 2008 and has been actively working to achieve her aims and objectives.
