Mission statement:	The Wilhem's Memorial Society has been existing for the past six years and its activities have been rather on a small scale. However, with an increase in its operational and institutional capacity, it wishes to involve as many young people in the achievement of local community development issues in Cameroon. The objective is to precipitate the achievement point of the MDGs in communities chosen and especially to build avenues of sustainable development that are available for the youth of this area. Its activities have been developed thanks to research from a Sister organization, The Renew Institute, exploring problems that have affected communities, seeking the root causes. Some of these date back to colonial days. In some cases no smooth transitions were available and the lack of expertise by those who were put at the charge of some institutions was at the very beginning of their own collapse. Such intuitions include the Coffee Cooperatives which are next to dead today. The ideal is to involve youth in this direction because some members of the adult communities have just given up hope. There is need to build a sense of citizenship among young people who are so terribly affected by corruption syndrome. It is also important to enable communities offer to young people exhaustive opportunity of access to development avenues like loans, property possession, land etc. Discrimination against young people is popular and unconscious on the part of the community. It is partly due to the lack of experience of the youth themselves. This lack of experience includes on a large scale a lack of specialization in employment and self-employment that is very rife in the business sector. Professional organizations that set standards and help members to grow academically in their areas of specialization are unheard of. It is in this vein that on the recommendation of WILMS, the Renew Institute has developed the College of Applied Industrial Studies and Engineering (CAISE) to be supervised by the Bernard Fonlon University Centre (principally a research centre) and to enable training for volunteers and any other young people or youth organizations that wish to participate in the realization of sustainable development objectives as set by WILMS and other sister organizations.

Organizational structure:	WILMS is managed by an Executive Director who is the founder. He is the head of an Executive committee elected from the Board of Directors made up of a Secretary General, A Projects Director, and Financial Commissioner. The BOD is elected from the General Assembly that is drawn from member groups and also the founding and charter members who all have voting rights.
Number and type of members:	three youth organisations are currently members with a down line membership of about 3000
