Mission statement:	A strategic, gender- and rights focused national coordinating body for Children and Youth Organisations in the Gambia, effectively advocating, developing programmes and promoting services for children and youth empowerment and participation in community development at national and regional level. 1. Champion the rights of Children and youth at national and international level, and work towards the eradication of all forms of discrimination and violence 2. Contribute to improve basic social services – in areas such as education, environment, sanitation and health, in particular HIV/AIDS prevention and control -, and provide support to vulnerable groups 3. Contribute to empower youth and children, in particular girls, to participate actively in community development 4. Strengthen cooperation among member organizations, facilitate their coordination, and contribute to enhance their effectiveness.
