Mission statement:
The Neighbourhood Health Foundation (NHF) is a small non profit, non-governmental Health promoting organization established in 2004. The organization is registered by the Lagos state government and is currently implementing HIV/AIDS, STIs , Drug Abuse and Malaria control Programs in target rural communities under the auspices of the Lagos State AIDS Control Agency and in partnership with several other local and international partners. We have executed several Health projects in some rural communities in Lagos state and we are presently partnering with the Society For Family Health in implementing the Global malaria control program in the Ijegun, Ijagemo and Ije-ododo rural communities. Similarly, we also partnered with the Young Women Christian Association in executing the Y-CARE HIV/AIDS project in Lagos state. The Neighbourhood health foundation is the humanitarian arm/subsidiary of NHF Health ventures which is into medical, diagnostics and laboratory services and is registered by the Federal Government of Nigeria through the corporate affairs commission. The aim and objectives of the Neighbourhood Health Foundation Aim: The aim of this foundation is to contribute to reduction of HIV/AIDS, STIs and Drug Abuse and their associated evils e.g. stigma among rural youths by increasing the youth¿s awareness about the scourge of these diseases with behavioral changes in view. Objectives: i) To create an AIDS wise and Drug free environment ii) To empower rural youths with factual information on HIV/AIDS, STIs and Drugs. iii) To help promote peer education through training and establishment of anti HIV/AIDS clubs in rural schools. iv) To offer free counseling and voluntary testing opportunities to youths in 3 specific rural communities- Ijegun, Ijeododo and Ijagemo Communities and eliminate stigmatization. 1) OUR VISION To create a healthy society that is free from HIV/AIDS and associated diseases with special focus on the vulnerable groups. Our Mission To promote health in neglected rural communities through enlightenments, prevention and control programs with the active participation of youths.
