    Organizational structure: The organization convenes a World Congress every three or four year. During the Conress, the principal decision-making body, the Council, meets. It elects the President, the First Vice President, the Secretary General, the Deputy Secretary General and an Executive Committee of up to 30 members. The IACL has as its members national associations, scientific institutions and individuals. Each national association nominates two representatives to the Council. Every 10 individual members can nominate one representative.
    Number and type of members: 40 national associations, 12 scientific institutions and 170 individual members.
