    Organizational structure: The IDC Secretariat is based in Melbourne Australia, provides capacity building and campaign support to our members around the world working in places of immigration detention, and on detention issues more broadly. The Secretariat and Coalition is overseen by an International Advisory Committee of 20 NGOs from around the world. The IDC works closely with UNHCR and meets each year in Geneva to hold an annual planning meeting.
    Number and type of members: The IDC is an international coalition with a membership base of more than 250 non-governmental organisations, faith-based groups, academics, practitioners and individuals working in 50 countries globally. Coalition members research, advocate and provide direct services to and on behalf of refugees, asylum-seekers and migrants
    Affiliation with NGO networks: Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, European Council for Refugees and Exiles, and many others.
