    Organizational structure: INSTITUTIONAL PROFILE INTRODUCTION Action Centre for Rural Community Development (ACERCD - CAMEROON) is a rural based non-profit, non-governmental organisation founded in 1999 with the registration no 918/G14/67/vol 2/APPB. This organisation was set up to promote Agriculture, Livestock, Trade, Micro-finance, Micro-enterprise and Natural Resource Development in the rural areas especially among women and youths. This is aimed at alleviating poverty, eradicating hunger and guaranteeing food security among the poorest of the poor family circles. It is also aimed at guaranteeing a safe world for the future generations. ACERCD strongly believes that the rural communities are the breadbaskets or our nations in Africa. Therefore neglecting them means biting our own tails. Thus improving on sustainable development of our nations, they need to be informed, educated, counselled, fed, encouraged, given medical and technical assistance for self-employment, self-reliant and self-sustainability. In this light, ACERCD has been formed to be the voice, the eyes, ears and the brain of the rural poor folk to stand the challenges of globalisation. The objectives of the organisation are: • To promote on the living conditions of the rural poor especially women and youths. • To promote and develop agriculture, livestock and trade in the rural areas. • To help market the produce and or products of the rural peasants at the national and international markets. • To help establish and promote micro-finance and micro-enterprise activities in the rural areas. • To carry out programmes relevant to environmental protection, management and awareness. • To sensitise the communities on health issues, family life education STD, HIV/AIDS. • To foster the development of tourism in the rural world.
