Mission statement:	ORGANISATION OVERVIEW Somaliland Transformation Group (SOMTRAG) was established in 1995, as Non-governmental, Non-profit making, and Non-partisan Organization (NGO), registered in Ministry of National Planning and Coordination of Somaliland, to cater for social services to the needy communities and families whose livelihood has been destroyed by the years of civil strive. The long-term strategy of SOMTRAG is the creation of better opportunities for people through participatory development and improved livelihood securities. SOMTRAG has currently two fully operational offices in Hargeisa - Capital of Somaliland, Lasanod, Sool Region and Burao - Capital of Togdher Region. It has also active representatives in Erigavo, Sanaag Region, UK, UAE and Ethiopia. SOMTRAG Experience in Programs/Projects’ Implementation: SOMTRAG has long experience with good track record in multi-sectoral programs management and implementation. For the last several years, SOMTRAG has successfully a number of relief and community based development projects covering in different sectors i.e. “emergency and relief operations, Food security, agriculture and livelihood, water, education, health, capacity building, income generating, employment and skill creation, Voter/Civic Education program activities and Election Observation” mostly in Hargeisa/Galbeed, Togdheer, Sanaag and Sool regions” - in partnership with different funding agencies and donors. SOMTRAG’s Partners: SOMTRAG has worked with a number of agencies of UN/INGOs agencies and other funding partners that operates in Somaliland and other abroad donors such as; UN-OCHA, CRESSENT SOCIETY ABU-DABIA, UAE, British Embassy in Ethiopia, DRC, WFP, Somaliland’s Electoral Commission NEC/EU election packages and through NEC-EU/GTZ-TAM “Technical Advisory Mission”, Action-Aid, PAI, GTZ, COSONGO umbrella organization, Somaliland Sheffield/UK Diaspora Community and others VISSION: SOMTRAG strives to fight against poverty, ignorance and sufferings facing Somaliland communities with special focus on poor vulnerable and marginalized groups. MISSION STATEMENT: SOMTRAG serves for women, children, disabled people and young generations from vulnerable and neglected communities in Somaliland. Drawing strength from partner organizations, donors, government institutions and individuals, SOMTRAG facilitates development and positive change through strengthening capacity for self-sufficiency, providing greater economic and social opportunities and influencing policies and decisions at all levels. STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES SOMTRAG has chosen to follow a ‘rights based approach’ to realize indivisible, valuable and mutual human development. Based on its vision, SOMTRAG development programmes focus on five interlinked Aims and eight strategic objectives (SO) that are of particular relevance to people and communities and other stakeholders.

Organizational structure:	SOMTRAG’s Leadership and Governance setup is based on three independent bodies, which are; General Assembly, Board of Directors (BOD) and Board of Management (BOM). The above bodies function on clearly defined roles and responsibilities to ensure effective leadership, policy and management of the organization.
